Our approach and commitment to the environment
As a participating entity in a social environment, it has become essential for any organization to contribute to the society and share their current concerns. In the recent years, scientists has warned the irreversible effect of the global warming and higher levels of pollution. We as an organization may not be able to solve all the problems that face us today, but can contribute our “bit” to the cause.
We have a 9-point policy to reduce our carbon footprint and have been practicising since 2005.
Reduce the use of energy.
The Company has a view and vision to use minimum amount of paper and just the required (Sustainably optimum) level of energy for the generation of different projects. The employees of this Company shuts down all the computers before they leave their office. Our office is so designed that maximum utilization of the solar energy can be made and thus it adds to the saving of the electricity consumption in our office.
Reduce the use of material resources.
The Company has a vision for a paper less environmentally sustainable office. The office makes use of recycled paper strategy so that the wastage of the paper is minimum. The office also makes use of the refilled ink strategy so that maximum and a sustainable use of the consumables are made. By refilling the cartridges there is a reduction of potential pollutants released to the environment not to mention an about 50% of the cost reduction can be also be brought around. In the office the measures are taken to economies the use of paper. This includes using the blank side of used paper for drafting, printing on both sides of the paper and re-using envelopes, etc.
Reduce the size of packages delivered to ensure efficient and effective use of transportation.
This procedure is generally taken care of in case of client and different mean of communication. The office also encourages the use of intranet for facilitating effective communication (of formal nature) among the employees of the Company.
Avoid the unnecessary use of environmentally damaging substances and processes.
The Company, in principle, does not use plastic and non-biodegradable substances like plastic cups, etc, for staff, welfare and other necessary & allied activities. The employees use porcelian cups and paper cups for tea and refreshment so that these materials do not pollute the environment during the process of dumping.
Integrating environmental and sustainable principles into our operational procedures and promoting best practice at every level.
The Company generally follows the system of donation of old hardware , and also in the recycling of the CD, plastic and the old hardwares. The Company also uses the principle of assorting to the use of Low energy servers. The company has a mission to donate the old and used computers (still have a good work potential) to the economically weaker section of the society including – students, common people, etc. For this purpose it generally refers to the National Technology Recycling Project, Nationwide directory to find out the most suitable non-profit computer recycler closest to it. It also involves the active help of HP recycle and TechSoup ( a comprehensive body of information for Computer recycling and reuse). With the help of this site contacts are made with those who would like to acquire recycled hardware and refurbishes.
There are a different types of batteries but the most commonly used batteries are – Alkaline Batteries, Lithium Ion Batteries, etc. These batteries are non-hazardous and are safe for the disposal to the special municipality systems. These batteries are re-cycled by the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation's (RBRC) Battery re-cycling programme.
Review environmental management procedures on a regular basis.
The Company is preparing a quality manual for the up-gradation and to meet the different types of requirements of the various types of trends of the quality management procedures.
vii. Education and train all employees in environmental issues and the environmental effects of their activities.
The Company is framing out different work modules and schedules for the training of the concerned persons in the different fields of Quality Management and Quality Training Programmes.
Continually improve our environmental performance.
The Company also focuses on the continued and gradual involvement of a public mass oriented & environmentally enriched platform for the development of better quality standards for the enhancement of the workability of the concerned people of the said company.
Water Usage Strategy
The Company generally believes in the use of clean and hygenic drinking water by the help of Aquaguard facilities. The quality of the water is maintained to prevent different types of water borne diseases and to ensure a healthy atmosphere in the office.
